I’ve never been a fan of facial oils. Actually, I started using them recently, as I got one in a subscription box and decided to try it. It is the Monuskin Soothing Facial Oil. I use it normally twice a week, maybe more if I feel my skin is too dry. Do you want to know how it works? I am going to give you my opinion in this post.

How to use Monuskin Soothing Facial Oil?
Apply at night for an intensive treatment that your skin will thank you for in the morning.
After cleansing and toning apply a small amount to the skin, massaging in gentle upward movements.

My opinion about Monuskin Soothing Facial Oil
Monuskin Soothing Facial Oil Packaging
There is something weird about the packaging of this product. I’ve seen two different packaging for the same product. If you go to the Monuskin website, you will see the product in a dropper bottle. However, if you look in Walmart, the product comes in a white plastic bottle with a flip-top cap.
Maybe because I got mine in a beauty box, I got the American version of the product. As I said, the product is in a white plastic bottle with a white flip-top cap. The bottle has a colourful Hawaiian-style sticker, showing palm tree leaves and hibiscus flowers. The name of the product and brand is on the sticker, as well as another type of information.
When you open the flip-top cap, you can see a nozzle which allows dispensing of the product. The size of the nozzle is well designed and has the right to deliver drops of product in a very controlled way.
About the oil
As you can guess from the name, the product is an oil. It is a golden oil with a lovely smell. It is a completely liquid product, easy to spread on the face but very runny. The smell is amazing. It is a mixture between sandalwood, lavender, and other flowers, which helps to relax at the same time care for your skin.
Monuskin Soothing Facial Oil Ingredients
The first thing I notice when reading the ingredient list is that it is too short. This product has only ten ingredients. Out of them, six ingredients are natural oils.
In the packaging, the brand mentions two oils, sandalwood and lavender oil. Sandalwood oil is not very frequent in cosmetics. However, it is very good for dry, cracked and chapped skin. It has a woody scent which helps to relax and it is good to treat insomnia. Lavender oil is very frequent in skincare. It is a natural antiseptic with relaxing properties. It is also very good for dry skin and helps with cell renewal. In combination with sandalwood oil, lavender oil can be an excellent option for good sleeping.
Another oil contained in this product is hazelnut oil. This oil is rich in fatty acids and is very good for oily and combination skin.
Grape seed and apricot kernel oils are both emollient and help to keep high moisture and hydration levels on the skin.
Finally, cardamom oil is a stimulating and warming oil, which gives a lovely hint of scent to the product.
How does Monuskin Soothing Facial Oil feel on the skin?
I apply a few drops of this product after all my night-time skincare routine, over the night moisturiser. I don’t use it daily, I don’t think an excess of oil can be good for the skin, but twice a week unless my skin needs more. Normally, I apply 2-3 drops on the palm of my hands and rub them between them to warm them. Then, I apply it to the face in upward motions, while a gently massage the skin.
My skin absorbs quickly the oil. I don’t like to sleep with an oily or sticky feeling on my face. This oil gets absorbed quickly, with only a gentle massage. It is a lightweight oil which gives an amazing feeling to the skin.
However, I get the lovely sandalwood and lavender smell which helps me to sleep and relax during the night. When I wake up, I don’t have any residue on my face. My skin absorbs the product completely.
Keep in mind that my skin is dry and it absorbs most of the oils fairly quickly. Therefore, I don’t know how this product will perform on oily or combination skin. It may not get into the skin so quickly.
How does my skin look?
When I wake up the following morning, my skin looks bright, plump and firm. The aim of using this product is to avoid skin sagging. I have mature skin and despite my skin now looking firm and plump, I want to apply product to prevent better than repair.
My skin looks youthful, I can’t see a single wrinkle and, what is more important, is that my skin not only looks young and fine but I also can feel it. The following morning after using this product I get up with so soft skin that I cannot stop touching it. It feels like a baby’s skin.
Summary
In summary, I like how this product leaves my skin and how my skin feels when I apply it. I can’t cope with an oily and sticky feeling on my skin and I hate products that leave a residue. This product not only helps me to keep my skin young but also helps me to get better sleep, which is a positive influence on my skin. I give, therefore, this product a big thumbs up.

Will you buy it again?
Yes, actually I am trying to get a new bottle before the first one is over. Therefore, I highly recommend this product to people with dry skin like mine. However, I don’t know how it will behave in people with oily skin.
