England Vs Germany Final Was Largest Crowd In Euros History For Both Men And Women

    [ad_1]

The 2022 women’s Euros final was historic in more ways than one.

With 87,192 fans packed inside Wembley Stadium, it was officially the highest attendance for any Euros final ever – men’s or women’s.

Overall, it was an entirely different feel to the shocking scenes that unfolded during the men’s Euro 2020 final at the same stadium.

It was Chloe Kelly who emerged as the hero for the Lionesses, bagging the winner in extra time to hand her nation a 2-1 victory over the old nemesis Germany.

The 110th-minute goal was the first of the Manchester City forward’s international career – and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

The effort helped England women, a team which has captured the heart’s of the nation over the past fortnight, secure their first major piece of major silverware.

Given her last-gasp goal, it was only natural that the TV cameras went straight to Kelly right after the referee blew the final whistle.

But during her post-match interview with the BBC, Kelly cut it short by running over to join the rest of her teammates in singing Sweet Caroline with the home supporters inside Wembley.

She did eventually return to give her thoughts on the game.

“Honestly, it’s amazing. This is what dreams are made of. Thank you to everyone that came out to support us. I started as a young girl watching women’s football and now this. It’s unbelievable.”

She added: “Thank you to everyone that played a part in my rehab because I always believed I’d be here but to be here and score the winner, wow!”

Incredibly, the entire attendance record for a women’s Euros was actually shattered halfway through the tournament.

“I think we really made a change. I think this tournament has done so much for the game but also for society and women in society in England but I also think in Europe and across the world and I hope that will make a (bigger) change too,” coach Sarina Wiegman said.

“It’s really, really nice to see what we saw today when we came into the stadium how enthusiastic everyone was and how the fans have stood behind us.”

  • Men in Sarees Why is Gender Neutral Fashion The Need of Hour And How Indian Men Are Acing it

Men in Sarees Why is Gender Neutral Fashion The Need of Hour And How Indian Men Are Acing it

    [ad_1]

Men in Sarees: The flexibility of fashion today means that men and women dress in one another’s attire more than before. The first ten years of the new century saw a revival of the fashion trend of girls dressing like boys. The vague appearance, in which both the genders combine and contrast fashionable items from one another’s wardrobes, is now being replaced by a new category of wearing that disregards gender norms. Neither size nor gender should determine fashion. The time when skirts denoted femininity and pants the contrary, is long gone. Instead, we are establishing a society where gender is viewed as a shifting scale rather than a binary. The resurgence of simplicity in fashion is giving this new idea a boost as unisex brands cater to the younger population seeking a unique perspective. Also Read – Dabur’s Real Fruit Juice to change packaging which was gender discriminating

Why is Gender-Neutrality Need of The Hour?

Gender neutrality is a practice that enables you to escape the gender binary. It motivates individuals to exercise their genuine right to freedom of expression. It guarantees that future generations would lead India toward a liberal and progressive course, ultimately bringing about a beneficial social transformation in the society with regard to gender equality. The gender-neutral fashion trend challenges the notion that girls should be delicate while boys should be tough in order to design clothing that every youngster may appreciate, regardless of their gender.

Gender-fluid and gender-neutral clothes are movements and fashion trends that unquestionably represent progress. More than ever, individuals are at ease with the idea of masculinity, and gender is no longer indicated by the clothes that one wears. Instead of being constrained by preconceived notions, people are opting to define themselves on their own terms.

Stars like Harry Styles and Ranveer Singh have repeatedly shattered stereotypes by dazzling in photo shoots while sporting supposedly feminine attire. Today’s fashions are transcending gender norms, allowing an increasing number of people the freedom to dress whichever they like.

  • Are Drawstring Pants the Ideal Men’s Back-to-Work Trousers? When They’re This Spiffy, Yes.

Are Drawstring Pants the Ideal Men’s Back-to-Work Trousers? When They’re This Spiffy, Yes.

    [ad_1]

Peter Zottolo, a photographer and electrician in California’s Bay Area, has a secret. His favorite pants, a pleated navy pair from Japanese brand Camoshita, have an elasticated waist and a drawstring that he can tighten or loosen on a whim. When he wears a button-down shirt or sweater that conceals these features, “they just look like dress pants,” said Mr. Zottolo, 46. “No one knows you’re the most comfortable man in the room.”

Mr. Zottolo is part of a wave of in-the-know men who are pulling on trousers that say “smart” from ankle to pocket but confess “sweatpants” sotto voce at the waist. Elasticated, drawstring-furnished waistbands were once reserved for gymwear and swim trunks. Now, however, you can find them cinching everything from chinos to corduroy slacks to formal suit pants from Brooks Brothers and ultrawide, capital-F-fashion trousers from luxury brands like Loewe.

These sneaky hybrid designs—sometimes called “Easy Pants”—are forgiving on post-WFH paunches but don’t look slovenly. That makes them ideal for men unwilling to abandon lockdown-era comfort as they re-enter a world of office meetings and IRL Hinge dates.

Fasih Awan, 28, an engineer at San Francisco fintech company Block, used to wear suits to work but now relies on wide-legged, box-pleated drawstring styles from New York tailoring brand Stòffa and Australia’s Informale. “Now that the office is less busy and I’m only there a couple of days a week, a suit feels like too much,” he said. He thinks drawstring styles, when sharply cut, can “elevate a casual outfit” to work-appropriate heights and even skew formal-ish if paired with a nice sweater.

Brooks Brothers creative director Michael Bastian agrees that drawstring pants are an appealing work option for guys who “don’t have to wear a suit every day.” Yet they present certain styling challenges, said Greg Lellouche, owner of online retailer No Man Walks Alone. “You have to think about the intersection with the shirt at the waist,” he said, adding that trousers whose drawstring is hidden on the inside—like Mr. Zottolo’s Camoshitas—are easier to work with. Visible drawstrings are too much for many workplaces, he said, calling the sight of aglets or knots dangling beneath a shirt hem “one step too far for business casual.”

Most experts we spoke to advocate a shirt-out look, but if you’re tempted to tuck, Paul Witt, owner of Wittmore, a menswear brand and store in Los Angeles and Malibu, Calif., suggests wearing a luxe linen T-shirt and dressy sneakers or loafers. For the office and social gatherings requiring smart-ish attire, Mr. Bastian of Brooks Brothers suggested wearing drawstring trousers in a dressy gray suiting fabric and pairing them with a cashmere crew-neck sweater. But, he cautioned, the pants’ ability to transcend their lowly roots as pajamas has its limits. “I wouldn’t ever recommend wearing drawstring pants with a shirt and tie,” he said. “That looks stupid.”

  • Prada to Restage Men’s and Women’s Fall 2022 Fashion Show in Beijing

Prada to Restage Men’s and Women’s Fall 2022 Fashion Show in Beijing

Prada to Restage Men’s and Women’s Fall 2022 Fashion Show in Beijing

SHANGHAI — Prada will restage its men’s and women’s fall 2022 collection in Beijing on Aug. 5.

The runway show marks the Italian luxury brand’s first return to China’s capital city in 11 years. In 2011, Prada revisited its men’s and women’s spring 2012 collection with added new styles at Beijing’s Central Academy of Fine Arts museum. The same year, Prada went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

    More from WWD

The fall 2022 collection will be shown at Prince Jun’s Mansion, a courtyard hotel in downtown Beijing in the traditional Chinese style, which was formerly the residence of Prince Jun in the Qing dynasty.

“Prince Jun’s Mansion seemed the perfect setting to celebrate once again our ongoing dialogue and commitment to Chinese culture that we have pursued with different activities throughout the years,” Prada co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons said in a press release.

Despite COVID-19-related travel restrictions, the brand sought out creative methods to bring its runway shows to China, one of the brand’s key markets. China sales were up 56 percent compared with 2019 for the 12 months ended Dec. 31. Last September, Prada showcased its women’s spring 2022 ready-to-wear collection simultaneously on catwalks in Milan and Shanghai, a first in fashion history.

In June 2019, Prada skipped Milan Fashion Week to showcase its men’s spring 2020 collection in Shanghai. Minsheng Wharf, the 80,000-ton warehouse, was transformed by OMA/AMO into a neon-lit space with ’80s synth-filled soundscape for the event.

In September 2017, Prada restaged its resort 2018 collection at Rongzhai, the restored historic mansion in Shanghai.

Prada’s Beijing runway show next week will go live at a critical time for the country. The capital city and economic hub is cautious to stick to its Zero-COVID policy ahead of the Communist Party National Congress later this year, when President Xi Jinping is expected to secure an unprecedented third term.

Beijing started easing COVID-19-related restrictions in June, but maintained regular testing every three days for people to enter public venues.

Prada might be the only luxury brand to host a physical runway show in China this year. So far, no luxury brands have hosted a physical fashion show in the country, and according to local PR agencies, none have revealed plans to host offline screening events or large runway shows in China for the rest of the year.

    [ad_1]

Tokyo Olympics 2022 gold-medalist in men’s Javelin throw, Neeraj Chopra made it to the headlines on Friday morning, for his feat of qualifying for the men’s javelin final at the ongoing World Athletics Championships 2022 in Oregon, US. Chopra earned a qualification in stellar fashion with a throw of 88.39 m in his first attempt in the qualifying round. While Chopra left everyone in awe of his performance, India’s celebration reached to new heights as Chopra’s fellow javelin thrower, Rohit Yadav became the second Indian to qualify for the men’s Javelin throw finals at the World Championships.

2 Javelin throwers from India qualify for the Javelin throw final for the 1st time in the World Athletics Championship 2022

Following in the footsteps of the Olympic champion, the 21-year-old Rohit, registered a throw of 80.42m in his first attempt. This is the first ever instance that two Javelin throwers from India have made it to the final of the World Athletics Championship 2022. Rohit currently ranks 28th in the world and is widely regarded as India’s second-best athlete in the event after Chopra.

Rohit Yadav hails from the Uttar Pradesh state of India and has gone over the 80m rank several times in the last three months. He started his debut World Championships campaign on the back of eight 80m+ throws in his career. In June 2022, Rohit returned with a personal best throw of 82.54 meters in the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships, which took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.

India eyes gold in Javelin throw final at the World Athletics Championship 2022

It is pertinent to mention that, this was the first time Chopra qualified for the World Championships final, as he failed to do so during the 2017 edition of the tournament. Back then, Chopra had registered a throw of 82.26m and went on to miss the 2019 edition due to an injury. Both Rohit and Neeraj now eye the best possible finish in the finals, eyeing the gold medal.

Both athletes are known to be friends and have been spotted sharing pictures alongside each other on social media. Rohit has already qualified for the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, and a medal at the World Championships will certainly boost his confidence ahead of the coveted event. A picture of both athletes shared on social media by Rohit from the World Championships venue, recently went viral on social media.
