A new destination for unique handbags, jewelry and other fashion accessories has popped up in downtown Allentown.
Silveri & Company, an accessory boutique focused on retro, vintage and modern pieces, opened May 4 at 21 N. Seventh St., on Allentown’s ArtsWalk.
The pop-up shop, located in the ArtsWalk’s annex building (directly across from Blended by Brü Daddy’s), will operate for at least the next couple of months, owner Kathy Cruz said.
Cruz started the business online nearly a year ago. She designs some of the styles herself, working with a manufacturer to bring her creative ideas to life.
Vibrant looks include purses and handbags in shapes such as circles, hearts and pyramids; and prints such as graffiti, marble and plaid. There are even bags designed to look like lips, newspapers and containers of popcorn and French fries.
The daily update for the Lehigh Valley business person.
The handbags, many of which can switch from crossbody to shoulder, are made of high-quality materials, including vegan leather, gold chains and pearl accents.
“We also have retro camera and cassette tape purses,” Cruz said. “So, they are very unique.”
The boutique also carries jewelry such as bracelets, anklets, rings and ear cuffs, along with other accessories such as sunglasses and keychains.
Cruz hopes to open a permanent brick-and-mortar location soon, but wants to see how the community reacts to the concept first. So far, the pop-up shop’s reception has been “amazing,” Cruz said.
“On the very first day that we opened, we had customers, and it’s continued like that,” Cruz said. “We get customers every single day.”
Silveri & Company, which is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday in Allentown, is named after a variation of Cruz’s married name, Silverio.
