Bringing an interactive and more convenient way to purchase footwear online, Amazon Fashion is introducing Virtual Try-On for Shoes to its Amazon shopping app. The technology, which uses augmented reality, is available for thousands of sneaker styles from brands including New Balance, adidas, Reebok and other major names in footwear.
After opening the Amazon shopping app on iOS devices, customers can hit the “Virtual Try-On” button on a sneaker’s product detail page. Using the device’s camera, the experience will provide a view of the shoes from every angle. The innovative augmented reality allows customers to move their feet around to see how the shoes look on, and shoppers can quickly swap between different colors of the same style within the experience. Customers also have the option of taking a photo of their virtual try-on experience and sharing the image with friends on social media by clicking the “Share” icon.
The introduction of Virtual Try-On for Shoes in the Amazon Fashion store also provides brands a new way to showcase their products and to make shopping for their styles easier and more interactive.
